University degree and proper EFL/ESOL training. Minimum two years’ relevant experience.

You will ideally have a good command of Spanish, or be heading in that direction, and you will certainly be aware of the structure of the Spanish education system. Much of our teaching leads to Cambridge exams, so familiarity with their format and content is vital.

We are looking for a full-time teacher to join our staff at our long-established school in the city of Avila in central Spain. We need someone for our team who has plenty of experience: all teachers teach a wide range of ages and levels, and prepare students for Cambridge exams, for which we are a delegated exam centre as well as an authorised preparation centre.

The contract runs from late September to June, but we always hope teachers will renew for further years.

A full teaching timetable comprises 22 contact hours per week.

We can only consider candidates with a complete command of the English language and an EU passport, or working papers. At the moment, all our teachers originally hail from the UK or the Republic of Ireland but we would certainly be happy to vary that mix, as has often been the case in the past.

Salary & Benefits

The post will attract a salary well above standard rates, with Christmas and June “pagas extras” on top of your monthly salary, and perks include a four-day teaching week, paid school holidays, and frequent opportunities for professional development.

Most members of staff train as invigilators, ushers or examiners for Cambridge exams.
