We are looking for an enthusiastic, hard-working professional with a passion for teaching for a long-term cover position.  The position involves 20 teaching hours (28 contract hours) working with pre-teen, teen and adult learners from A2 to C1 level.

Qualifications

Key qualifications and competencies:

  • CELTA, Trinity CertTESOL and/or PGCE
  • Proficient user of English (C2 qualification required)
  • A legal right to work in Spain
  • At least two years’ experience teaching English or other areas
  • Good organisation and planning skills
  • Flexibility and an ability to adapt to change
  • Warm, friendly, approachable, and professional manner
  • IT skills (Microsoft Office, Google Docs, email etc)

 

Desirable qualifications and competencies

  • Experience teaching University of Cambridge ESOL exams
  • Working knowledge of Spanish
  • Young learner qualification (e.g. IHCYLT or CELTYL)

Conditions

Conditions:

Full-time teaching contracts are 34 hours (24 hours of contact time). Part-time contracts are based on a similarly ratioed scale. The teaching timetable is usually between 4 and 10pm, Monday to Thursday. The remaining hours are used for class preparation, marking, class administration, twice monthly teachers’ meetings, monthly meetings with the Director of Studies and parents’ evenings twice a year.  Contracts include full social security coverage.

As the position requires working with children, the successful candidate will be required to provide proof both from Spain and their country of origin that they can work with minors.
