We are looking for a dynamic teacher for immediate start, teaching Monday to Friday evenings, mostly Upper Primary.
Abracadabra English requires a teacher for Year 4, 5, 6 primary classes, most of them twice a week, a couple of teenager groups and an adults Conversation Group.
Due to covid 19, we have lost teachers returning to the UK and being given contracts in the Spanish state schools. It is not due to having any cases of Covid in the classroom. There is a very strict protocol as to entry and exit, distance, masks, gel, temperature control, alternative activities and quarantining of games and cards, plus hourly and daily cleaning of surfaces, clothes and cloths.
We have also taken on another premises where we are working 50% online and 50% presential, with preparations in place to switch to online, should it be necessary.
However, we are needing a teacher for the larger academy with five classrooms in operation. All of the classes are 55 minutes in length and with six students only. There is a scheme of work to follow for the primary students, which allows a lot of flexibility but contains the essential, whereas the teenagers follow a textbook, complemented with extra activities.
There are five classes per day from Monday to Thursday and three on a Friday. The mornings are free for planning, studying, exercise, shopping and having a healthy work – life balance. There are no classes on a Saturday.
There is much less mixing and gathering of teachers, thanks to covid, but there are whassap groups for every age group and the teachers do meet in small groups to plan and share ideas. There are also things being shared on Google Classrooms.
Nick and Carolyn are also in the academy every afternoon, thanks to covid control, but are available for any teaching queries and support.
We have training sessions for Cambridge exams, for young learners, motivation, correction, listening skills, marking writing, discipline, games with a purpose, etc, and generally try to help each other with our different skills etc.
If you are a fairly independent, confident teacher, with lots of ideas, but looking to develop, and think that you could fit into our team, please contact us as soon as possible, via e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org
The salary meets all minimum conditions and more, uniform is provided, all local and national bank holidays and Christmas and Easter school holidays are also paid and we offer support in Personal Development too.
We look forward to hearing from you to discuss the post in more detail.
Nick and Carolyn
