We are looking for a part-time teacher to join the team at our academy in Molina de Segura, with the possibility of working more hours as they become available. We are a small,  supportive team, regularly sharing ideas and resources. Our teachers work with students of all ages and levels, from beginners to advanced, and have an excellent knowledge of grammar.

Qualifications

 

  • Native English speaker competence (C2)
  • EU national or a valid work permit
  • TEFL qualification (e.g. Trinity CertTESOL)
  • University degree, preferably in languages or teaching
  • At least 2 years teaching experience, including preparation of Cambridge exams.
  • A good level of Spanish, to enable communication with students´ parents and write termly reports.

Conditions

Our current vacancy is a part-time post, though more hours may become available in the future.  The teacher will work two evenings a week (Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday) from 16:30 to 20:15 or 21:30, in addition to one morning in the academy for class preparation and other administrative duties. The contract will be for  10 or 12.5 hours.

The succesful candidate will have experience of preparing students, mainly teenagers, for Cambridge exams. However, for this particular post it is essential that the candidate has experience teaching children as young as 5, and enjoys using  crafts, games and music to make the lessons as dynamic as possible.

Our maximum class size is 12 students (8 for young children) though many of the groups are smaller. Most of our groups follow a coursebook as well as using a range of extra resources. Exam preparation groups have access to practice exams. We have a wide range of toys, games and books available to use with the children´s groups.  All of our classrooms have computers, internet access and whiteboards.  As far as possible, we focus on speaking and listening activities in class, though time is spent on all of the skills.
