Eli Dos Hermanas is an ELI member school located in the town of Dos Hermanas, just 13 kms from Sevilla. The train service from the capital is regular and takes only 12 minutes. The majority of our teachers live in Seville but for those who prefer a quieter lifestyle, Dos Hermanas is a a pleasant town with excellent facilities.
The school is located in a purpose built premises in the new part of town. There are 5 good sized classrooms, a teachers room and reception. The school has been designed to give a sense of light and space. We try to take care of the school and this helps to to create a pleasant working environment.
The students: Most of our students are children and adolescents, though there are adults too. The academy tends to be a long term project for our young learners. We try to show a personal interest and ensure that they take full advantage of the school and what we offer. Our objective is for the learner to leave with a recognised certificate, hence we teach towards the Cambridge exams. For adults English is necessary in the job market and the European framework BI level is an essential academic acreditation to obtain a University degree.
The Teachers: We are looking for teachers who take a pride in what they do, who care about their students and who are keen to do the best possible job. The atmosphere in the school is professional but friendly. We’re looking for team players who will fit in. If you’re teaching children and adolescents you need to have a high degree of enthusiasm and energy. We believe that the fundamental characteristic of a good teacher is being able to connect with the learners.
Timetables: 22- 23 contact hours ( 34 hour week). On site evening blocks from Monday to Thursday. We teach : Children 2 one hour classes a week, while adolescents and adults 3 hours divided in two one and a half hour classes. Classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards, e beam and internet connection.Other duties include keeping records of attendance, marking exams and writing corresponding reports. Teachers meet parents twice a year.
Support: We believe in providing teachers with the support necessary for them to do the best possible job. A less experienced teacher will need a certain amount of mentoring at the beginning of the year. This may also take the form of lesson planning and observations
