The English House opened in 1996 and was one of the first authorized private academies in the area. We have taught French, German, Chinese and Spanish but our main area is English language teaching.
We are an authorized preparation centre for the Cambridge ESOL exams and also a Trinity GESE approved examination Centre.

We are well known in the area for the quality of our courses and we pride ourselves on giving the best service to all our students, whether on site or at local schools and businesses.
We have a sister company which organizes courses abroad throughout the year for schools and individual students travelling all over the world. Some of our teachers spend the summer months acting as monitors, accompanying the various groups of teenagers during their stay abroad.
Our school is in the town centre, close to all amenities and has 6 classrooms including a language lab for multi-media classes.

The English House is a member of ACEIA and ACEIPAL.

El Ejido is a large town in the province of Almería in southern Spain.
It’s very close to the Sierra de Gador mountain range for those of you who like trekking or hiking and it’s only about 15 minutes by car to the beach at Almerimar. Almerimar is a suburb of El Ejido, on the coast, and is famous for its golf course, nature reserve and water sports centre. There is also a lake where rowing competitions are held or you can try your hand at canoeing. There is a bus service from the centre of El Ejido to Almerimar throughout the year although the service is more frequent in the summer months. You will find a number of ex-pats living in this part of El Ejido although there are also quite a few who choose to live in the smaller villages closer to the mountains.

El Ejido itself offers everything you would expect to find in a thriving town; shopping centre, department store, cinema, theatre, swimming pool, sports centre, numerous parks and even a hospital.
Wherever you go in Almería you will find plenty of great places to eat out or try “tapas”. The capital city is only 38kms away and the airport 55kms. There is a regular service by Easyjet to Gatwick Airport throughout the year and this is extended to other UK airports in the summer months. Malaga airport is just over a 2 hour drive away and there are always flights to the UK and Ireland throughout the year.
