Our school of languages, located in Seville, has four fully equipped classrooms with all the resources necessary to enjoy a quality language learning experience. Our teachers are able to utilize materials such as digital boards, projectors, flashcards, realia, DVD library, computers, text books for reference as well as reading, broadband internet connection and other pertinent educational elements. All personnel take pleasure in the technology available in the office as well as our small kitchen. All full-time teachers have their own classroom, each one set up with a white board, a computer and audio/visual equipment.
With a maximum of ten to twelve students in each group, Verbum classes are small and personal. Children come for two hours a week and adults come for three hours. Levels range from absolute beginners to advanced levels and we have students of all ages from as young as 2.
Apart from the main school, Verbum has lessons in public and semi-private primary and secondary schools and companies, so lessons are held in their facilities.
Verbum is a professional organization and expects high standards of teaching and commitment from its teachers. Teachers have a real desire for professional development and, to this end, a comprehensive Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Programme (including pre-course induction and on-going in-house and external training) is provided.
As part of the Verbum Continuous Professional Development Programme, teachers attend workshops or meetings. These are given by colleagues or guest speakers from other professional organizations. Similarly, teachers participate in an Observation Programme and the Academic Director observes the classes and offers feedback as well as being on hand to provide support and advice.
We offer a salary above national pay agreements as well as full national health and social security cover. Contracts are normally from mid/end of September to mid/end of June. A full-time contract consists of max. 24 contact (teaching) hours per week, the remaining contract hours being dedicated to class preparation, exam correction, report writing, participation in the CPD programme, meeting parents, etc.
External teachers have a part-time contract with a monthly salary so that they earn the same every month, no matter if they have worked less hours (e.g. December/January because of Christmas)
