Pilas is a town of about 15,000 people halfway between Seville and the beach (Matalascañas being the nearest) and is close to the Doñana National Park and El Rocio. By car it takes about 30 minutes from Seville (30km) and from Pilas to the beach is about 45 minutes.
Pilas is set in beautiful Andalusian countryside, ideal for country walks with lots of typical ‘pueblos’ close by where you can eat local specialities in the tavernas at very reasonable prices such as Aznalcazar, Bollullos, Benacazón and Hinojos. Many of our students come from the surrounding towns and villages and Pilas is the main town in the area known locally for entrepreneurs and nationally for sofas! It is also very popular with cyclists because of the countryside.
Ideally, teachers would need their own transport if they lived in Seville or a town in between as the bus service to and from Plaza de Armas stops early evening. Alternatively, living in Pilas transport would be great to explore the countryside, towns and villages and to get to the numerous beaches on the doorstep.
