BEM Idiomas

Description of school:

BEM Idiomas opened in 2002 with an English teacher, a Spanish teacher and a French teacher. Since then it has developed to become one of the leading private language schools in the area, with a reputation for high standards and professionalism.

It is a member of FECEI and ACEIA, a recognised examination preparation centre for Cambridge exams from Young Learners to CAE and a Cambridge Learning Partner.

The main school is situated in Vélez-Málaga, 4 km from the coast and 35km from Málaga city.  This large town is traditionally Spanish with easy access to the motorway, the mountains and has all essential facilities.

In 2013 a satellite school was set up in the neighbouring coastal town of Torre del Mar. Here English Summer Camps are held for children from 4 to 13 years of age.

In September 2015 the main school moved to new and larger premises within Vélez- Málaga.

The new premises are very central but situated in a quiet plaza. The classrooms are light, air-conditioned and comfortable for groups of up to eight students.

Around 500 students attend classes twice a week and ages range from 3 years old to adults.  Currently the majority of them are teenagers, reflecting the higher level of English required by those seeking further education.

The staff room holds a wealth of resources for all levels, computers, a photocopier and internet access. These are always available to teachers.

There is also a small kitchen area for hot/cold drinks and snacks.
