Established in the town of Burjassot (near Valencia City) in 1981, the Institute of English is a private language school offering English, French and German courses.
Our courses are designed to meet the needs of children, young people, adults and businesses, among others. Obtaining a certificate to validate the level achieved (B1, B2, C1 or C2) is primarily the goal of our students, both young and adults.
Depending on the length of time and objectives, we offer extensive, intensive and exam preparation courses for the University of Cambridge to offer our student the course that best suits their needs.
Institute of English has been in existence since 1986 and until 2009 was a Cambridge ESOL Examiner Center in Spain (ES451, VALENCIA ESOL CENTRE). Currently we are a Cambridge English Exam Preparation Centre.
As a member of ACEICOVA, The Association of Language Schools in Comunidad Valenciana, and of FECEI, The Federation of Private Language Schools in Spain; we are committed to maintaining high standards throughout the organisation.
Experience over 35 years has given us a reputation in our sector.
OUR TEAM
The Institute of English is formed by a team of teaching professionals in the areas of teaching, administration and management, specialists in language courses.
All our teachers are British, are licensed and have the TEFL (Teaching of English as a Foreign Language), as well as extensive teaching experience. Most of them, besides, are examiners for the speaking tests of Cambridge English Language Assessment.
There are a wealth of resources to complement course programs and guidance from the Director of Studies. Course programs and objectives are clearly defined but allow the experienced teacher freedom of expression to get the very best results.
OUR PREMISES
The Institute of English is located on a ground floor with an area of 530 square meters. The centre is distributed in two areas, one private and one public.
In the private area there are 2 offices, 1 teachers’ room, file room, tea and coffee making facilities for the staff and the staff toilet (1x women and 1x men).
In the public area there are a total of 6 classrooms, 1 computer room, a Self-Access room (for students) and the student toilets (3x boys and 3x girls).
Each teacher is allocated a well-appointed classroom that includes interactive whiteboard, a computer with internet connection and a projector helping to create a comfortable yet professional environment. Teachers have access to a wealth of resources that you would expect to find in a well-established modern school. The centre is equipped with additional computers so that students can practice regularly with multi-media outside class-time. Moreover, the centre has developed a system of self-access from students’ own homes.
OUR COURSES
We offer general English courses from false beginners to advanced level and we also prepare students for the Cambridge English qualifications.
Our students range from 7 years old to adult. Students come to classes in our centre for two days, three hours a week from October to June. Intensive exam preparation courses are available to adults and teenagers, some of which are offered in July and others from October to December.
